To date Emirates Airlines, a GPP supporting member, has awarded over AED 50 million in contracts to a number of GPP members. Local companies supply a variety of services including e-management, floral arrangements, general trading items, drinking water, ground transport equipment, foodstuffs and luxury items.
Emirates’ involvement and support of the GPP has noticeably enhanced the success of local companies, while they in turn have greatly contributed to the airline’s award-winning service; the mutually beneficial relationships are shining examples of the program’s ability to foster the entrepreneurial spirit in the UAE and support the development of new businesses by UAE nationals.
