Fathiya Ahmed Osman
Heritage of Henna (Retailer, Franchiser, Exporter)

UAE national artist, Fathia Ahmed, nurtures an ambitious vision – to take the heritage of henna beyond domestic borders, across international shores.

In 2002, she set up a modestly decorated tent at the Jumairah Beach Hotel in Dubai, and called it Heritage for Henna. With her intricate henna designs, she enchanted visitors with her proficiency in body painting. Soon, Fathia’s tent became a must-visit destination for any visitor to the hotel.

Believing that the quality of the herb was crucial to the success of her business, she identified the best farms in the region that cultivated top quality henna shrubs. She also made sure the henna powder was skillfully mixed with high quality by-products that reflected the right colour and depth in design.

Four years later, Heritage for Henna’ has experienced unprecedented success, with over 28 outlets in some of the most elite locations of Dubai, including Burj Al Arab, Hilton, Sheraton and Jumairah International hotels. Its classical and contemporary designs for men and women have gained wide international recognition and acceptance from a diverse mix of clients.

In line with Fathia Ahmed’s ambition to take her art beyond national borders, Heritage for Henna is finalizing franchisee deals with leading companies in Europe, with plans to export the tradition to the Far East as well.
